» SImplya... a Diva!
My darlings,
The 2009-2010 season is finally here, and I am ready to celebrate it with a brand new show, called “Simply... a Diva!” (or “Semplicemente… Diva!” if you’re a local). The show will open on October 10th, 2009 at my beloved Teatro Eden here in Bologna, Italy, and the buzz about it is already very strong and positive thanks to a wonderful ad campaign with full page ads on all the major newspapers, radio ads in the most popular stations, and most importantly my face on the side and back of city buses. How very Carrie Bradshaw of me!
The show is easily the hardest I have ever performed in, with the songs ranging from All That Jazz (from Chicago the Musical) to Barbra’s You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, Bette’s Stuff Like That There and of course opera classics from Traviata to the lovely Nessun Dorma. I am looking forward to having the show professionally filmed before the end of the year, so that I will be able to put a promo online for your enjoyment.
The question I get most often in your emails is “when will you perform over here?”. Well, I can only tell you that we are going to be working very hard at that in 2010. In fact, bringing the act out of Italy and into English speaking Countries will be our main objective. [Paragrafo] Meanwhile, we are working hard at new collaborations, song duets and video project. The next one to be released as some of you might know is the video for Time To Say Goodbye, the Bocelli-Brightman duet that I like to sing by myself… or should I say with myself! The video has been in the works for over a year now, waiting for the right moment to come out. Well, the moment has finally arrived with the Gender Bender festival, an international performing arts Festival that will feature its exclusive premiere early in November. Keep an eye on this space, and you will be among the first to see it. Until then, take good care of yourself and please keep your mail and comments coming, I love hearing from you!
Toujours,
LaLa.
